The deplorable state of traffic lights in Ghana has now reached an epidemic level, leading to disability, loss of life and property. One question remains; who is responsible for the maintenance of traffic lights in Ghana?
Truly speaking, their current deplorable state can be described as a ‘death trap’ for motorist and pedestrians. It is high time citizens of the country take to social media to channel their grievances. This is because anecdotal evidence shows that, not a single day goes by without a minor or major accident happening due traffic light malfunctioning or non-functioning. The traffic light at SDA Junction (Adenta) has been out of order for close to a year and this has resulted in numerous accidents. One of the accidents has led to one of the traffic lights being ‘uprooted’ onto the main road.
This traffic light has been left in this state for over a month and this makes one to wonder if the authorities in-charge are waiting for a more disastrous accident to happen before they take action, or they are just unconcerned? It is high time we the citizens hold those who are paid with the taxpayers’ money liable for negligence in the discharge of their duties.
Ghanaians stand up!!!
This nonsense must stop!!!
